Festive & Film-Friendly Shopping Locations

With December only days away, twinkling lights and charming market stalls have appeared in towns and cities all over the UK. Courtyards are becoming alpine villages and streets are filled with fairy lights and the smell of mulled wine, so it’s the perfect time to show off some of our prettiest and most unique shopping centres, marketplaces and high streets for filming.

C24668, Birmingham

There’s something cosy about a narrow, pedestrianised street. Lined with shops and cafes, this Birmingham courtyard is home to a mixture of modern office blocks and charming Victorian buildings, giving it a vibrant, urban feel. There’s even a canal-side warehouse space and several studio areas, making it a brilliantly versatile location.

SH9977, Central London

Indoor shopping centres can bring a touch of class and grandeur to your filming shoot. With high, arched ceilings and high-end brands, this London shopping centre is a luxurious and eye-catching location, even adorned with regal pillars and historic shop fronts.

C23590, Cardiff

If you’re looking for something a little less chocolate-box and a little more reflective of a modern festive season, you might prefer a warehouse market space instead. Tucked away under railway bridges or acting as the winter alter-egos of event venues, these locations are a mixture of Christmas decorations and concrete floors, perfect for a modern meet-cute.
