BRUTALIST LOCATIONS FOR FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY
At Location Partnership we have plenty of unique and extraordinary architecture for filming. Some of our most interesting locations are brutalist buildings, and with their imposing silhouettes, they can make brilliant backdrops for all different kinds of shoot.
Popular in the post-war era when housing was sorely needed, brutalism became a solution to the crisis - affordable homes that could be built quickly, and despite their appearance, most brutalist buildings had good living conditions at the heart of their design. The term emerged from the French phrase 'beton brut', meaning raw concrete, and many consider the architect Le Corbusier to be the father of the movement. It was function over form, and although few remain in the UK today, there are still some examples of this unique style around the country.
