Set in a standalone building in a garden in Isleworth, West London, The Kursed Piranha is a home Tiki Bar which has been designed, built and decorated to the highest of standards and authenticity. The building sits on top of a raised decking area, with the benefit of this space for equipment, seating and plenty of space for a Gazebo to be erected. Fully contained in a wooden building measuring 10ft by 14ft (3 metres by 4.5 metres), this Tiki lounge contains a full width bar top with shelving, heavily stocked with tiki mugs, tropical rums and elixirs as well as shelving, a fridge and freezer. The sofa and armchair are original vintage pieces upholstered in Hawaiian barkcloth, and a modern swing seat sits in the corner, again covered in authentic Polynesian fabric and cascading silk wisteria. The bamboo bar is an original mid century piece, as well as the rattan side table and planters. The rug is an homage to the carpet in the now closed London Trader Vic’s Bar - where you could catch a werewolf or two sipping on a Pina Colada back in the day! The windows are covered in a mural of a Hawaiian beach at sunset, with a bubbling volcano in the background and allowing natural light to illuminate the scene in the day and a privacy screen at night. On top of this there are a set of thick, blackout curtains in a tribal Tiki print, allowing a night time feel to the bar on even the brightest of days when drawn. The doors are bifold, allowing one, two or all four doors to be fully opened, exposing approximately three quarters of the front wall of the bar to be fully opened if required. There is full 240v electrics running to the bar, with its own fuse board and free sockets to allow equipment and lighting to be run. The ceiling height slopes back to the rear of the building but is of standing height throughout, and all non-lit ceiling decor is removable if required. The ceiling is adorned with 20 lights which are a mixture of authentically styled puffer fish, baskets and fishing floats. There are further lights on the walls, table tops, shelving and floor making the bar feel moody and intimate. Conversely with the doors wide open the bar is flooded with light from its east facing perspective. On the walls and ceiling of the bar, bamboo and grass matting, rope and carved wood have been added to enhance the authenticity and tropical feel of the space. Pictures, carvings, lights and exotica objets adorn the walls for a fully immersive, eye drawing feel. There are several items of furniture that can be moved about or removed completely subject to needs.
