Victorian Factory
The Brickworks Museum is located in a large, late Victorian, brickmaking factory. It has its original machinery complete with steam engines, old boilers etc. There are big drying sheds and the original kiln complex. There are two drying sheds that are currently completely empty having been recently rescued. As part of the museum visit we have created displays of the original brickmakers cottages - 1900s and 1970s. We also have a large collection of brickmaking artefacts. We are open to the public on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from March to October.
We are near Swanwick and Bursledon Stations - but Bursledon is very small.
