DETAILS

A 12th Century Norman castle surrounded by picturesque parkland encompassing over 1000 years of defensive ramparts.

This impressive castle features four preserved floors including the Tapestry Room, Garrison Floor, Banqueting Hall, Minstrels Gallery and Royal Chamber. The Chamber includes an impressive four-poster bed, wall hanging and even a small stone bathroom. Set in 160 acres of parkland, lakes, formal gardens and ancient woodland, it’s a film location that can have many uses, and there is even a Georgian house on site with many bedrooms and reception rooms, joined to the main castle via a Tudor bridge. The house also includes a catering kitchen and permanent marquee. There is an original 18th Century dovecote in the grounds as well as two further accommodation cottages. The combination of the Norman keep, 18th Century Queen Anne Georgian house, ancient defensive landscape, glorious gardens and hillside woods make this an atmospheric and versatile film location. It also has the distinct advantage that the exteriors of the buildings match the interiors. As well as the grand rooms, majestic halls, secret doors and cosy crannies, there is much to offer the production office with high speed wireless network, make up rooms, 3 phase power and hard standing for a unit base.
