Britain's Industrial Filming Locations
With such a varied history of manufacture and invention, Britain's heritage sites include vast factories, beautifully preserved Victorian architecture and an extensive network of railways. From Charles Dickens to Peaky Blinders, industrial Britain has served as a backdrop to countless iconic stories, providing a treasure trove of filming and photography locations.
R25392, Powys
One of the newest additions to our location library is a selection of huge, historic dams (R25392) in Powys, Wales. There are six in total, set among 72 square miles of picturesque countryside and unspoilt hills. Built between 1897 and 1952, they feature attractive Victorian archways and bridges, as well as a beautiful domed valve tower.

Factories come in all shapes and sizes, and offer unpolished, characterful backdrops for shoots. Despite their utilitarian purposes, Victorian factories were often built with ornate features such as Italianate façades and gothic interiors as architects sought to impress with their designs. E22249 is a particular gem; a pumping station opened in 1865 in response to London's deteriorating waterways, it showcases some of the most beautiful cast ironwork in the world.
